Brand

Brand photography in New York.

For a founder, a shop, a launch, or a team. We pick a place in the city and I make the pictures you will post, print, and send.

The portrait

Pictures that introduce you.

I photograph brands in New York. Brand work is not a different camera. It is a different job for the picture. Someone should meet you and understand the work before they read a long page.

That might be a portrait in a pale blazer, sunglasses on, for the place where people decide if they trust you. It might be two people in tailoring, if the brand is a pair. It might be a hand and a glass with the skyline behind them, if the city is part of the proof that you are here.

I plan those frames with you before the day. What you need for the site. What you need for a deck. What you need for a small print on a wall. Then I shoot. You should still sound like yourself when the pictures are done.

The place

Where your people already are.

We can shoot in a studio, in the shop, or out in the neighborhoods your customers already walk. SoHo for a storefront and the cast iron. The West Village if the brand is quieter and the street is the point.

Midtown, and the towers near Central Park, when you want height and stone. Brooklyn on the water, if the light at the end of the day is the feeling you want people to remember. An office or a lobby, if the team should look like they work together, not like they were lined up against a wall.

The crew stays small. It is usually just me, and whoever needs to be in the picture. A founder does not need a large set to look clear. A shop does not need to close for the afternoon if we are kind about the light and the door.

After

A gallery, not a pile.

You get a private gallery on Pixieset. That is where the proofs and the finals live, and where downloads stay. This page is the front door. The gallery is the work you will actually use.

Tell me the date, or the window. Tell me what the brand is, in a sentence. Tell me where in New York you want to stand, if you already know. If you do not, I will suggest a few blocks that fit the way you want to be seen. I reply from info@cottyphotography.com.

If the day is also fashion, or also a portrait of two people, say that too. The lines between brand, couples, and fashion are only useful if they help me show up with the right plan. The pictures can still be simple.
